Medtick (how to use)

The flow chart will show you how the Medtick system works, one can click on the titles to see the function (on what it does) of each section.
Each section one can check for symptoms and collects information (except hospital page) for you and one can then present a report to your healthcare professional in order to give you the appropriate treatment.

HENCE NO MORE: “Have you used this product before?”!
Instead: “Your report has helped me to recommend this product”.

Hospital

Hospital Conditions/Severe Warning Symptoms

This section is regarding whether one should go to hospital or not, it should be used as a guide and does not substitute for medical advice from a healthcare professional. Always seek a healthcare professional medical advice first.

Red Flag Symptoms

Red-flag symptoms can be general (e.g. weight loss or fatigue) or specific (e.g. coughing up blood) and act as an alert of potentially sinister pathology.
Red flags are not diagnostic tests; their main role is that they raise suspicions of a severe underlying cause.

This section is regarding for one to select the relevant chapter/medical ‘Over the counter condition’ and the services offered.

Please select the part of the body for the chapter/medical ‘Over the counter condition’ related to your symptoms.
One will then have three options:
1. Continue with chapter selected (Medtick chapter).
2. Access to The Infection service: Email will be sent (once payment is complete if applicable)- relevant to the chapter selected (if one believes they have an infection).
3. Access to The Aftercare services:
  1. The Aftercare service – (unique to each chapter)
  2. Rash aftercare

Medical Condition

This section is to check if one has any existing or is prone to medical conditions related to this chapter.

Lists a serious of conditions involved with your symptoms/condition, if one has an existing medical condition and it appears in this section
One can check if their existing medical condition is getting worst
Helps the healthcare professional to make a judgement if the existing medical condition is getting worst.

Medication

This section is to check if one is taking any medication related to this chapter.

Click on the medication and then check the ‘information box’ on the right hand side (please note the medication list may not contain all known medication) and confirm by typing medication.

It will list common vitamin supplements that cause the condition that on has.

There is any additional information field where one can add information i.e medication to let your healthcare professional know .

All the questions answered will be representing to you as a report so one can show a pharmacist/medical doctor.

This section is regarding if one has an infection or not

Rash:

Rash conditions are difficult to diagnose:

We would say as a guide:

Rule out Meningitis, Septicaemia, Sepsis, aggressive Skin cancer or skin changes and other hospital conditions under ‘Skin‘
First check ‘Over The Counter’ skin conditions – see ‘Anatomy page’
If one feels it is not those skin conditions, then check the Infection service for an infectious rash.
If one feels its is not an infectious rash then look at Rash aftercare section.

What is an infection?

The ‘Rash Aftercare Service’ is an optional service where we try to identify a non-infection rash and/or if one believes it is not a minor ailment rash.
- For example one may think they have eczema when it could be skin cancer.
This site does not include body, skin or nail Infection conditions and/or infection diseases, please see ‘The Infection Service’ section for those conditions.
Check a rash by answering ‘yes or no approach’ to identify rashes
An additional information tool available to explain further medical conditions, symptoms and feelings

Nail Aftercare Service

The ‘Nail Aftercare Service’ is an optional service where we try to identify underlying nail conditions and how it may be related to other medical conditions.
- For example one may think they have eczema when it is could be skin cancer.
This site does not include body, skin or nail Infection conditions and/or diseases, please see ‘The Infection Service’ section for those conditions.
Check one’s nail by answering ‘yes or no approach’ to identify conditions
An additional information tool available to explain further medical conditions, symptoms and feelings
This tool has a ‘save’ function and can be retrieved at a later time
It is then presented as a report

Aftercare Service

The Aftercare Service is an optional service where one can answer questions related to their symptoms, which could be a more serious underlying condition (not an infection or any physical injury).
- For example if one had pain in their wrist, it may not be a simple sprain but a form of arthritis.
