The Infection Service

  • The Infection Service is where we determine infectious disease that one may have developed or got worst.
For example: one may have developed a cold infection.
  • In this section we have added questions which relate directly and indirectly to the initial over the counter condition and feel these questions should be asked and answered during an initial consultation with your medical professional, unfortunately there is not always time to do so when having a one to one session.
  • We kindly ask you to answer all questions to represent an accurate report so your medical healthcare professional can use (if they wish to) it as a guide  to the next appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
  • All the questions answered will be represented to one as a report so one can show one’s Pharmacist/ Medical doctor.
  • An email will be sent to you.

How to use

  1. Always check first question (1) ‘High temperature greater than 38°C (100°F) or over and/or chills and sweats longer than 72 hours AND VITAL SIGNS (SEPSIS/PNEUMONIA)’ and then continue to other main questions.
  2. Answer a Main question that related closest to your infection (do one question at a time, once complete you can go onto a next main question if one wishes to after answering the sub-questions).
  3. Click on Bacterial condition, Fungal condition , Protozoa condition, Viral condition one at a time.
  4. Use the table as a guide (left hand side) and if one wishes to answer the sub-questions on this disease, click on that disease (right hand side) and answer the sub-questions- please press ‘complete’ to save that disease.
  5. Continue the process- when finished click on ‘Save’.
  6. Click on next section (Bacterial condition, Fungal condition , Protozoa condition, Viral condition)  if one wishes to.

Rash:

Rash conditions are difficult to diagnose:

We would say as a guide:

  1. Rule out Meningitis, Septicaemia, Sepsis, aggressive Skin cancer or skin changes and other hospital conditions under ‘Skin
  2. First check ‘Over The Counter’ skin conditions – see ‘Anatomy page’
  3. If one feels it is not those skin conditions, then check the Infection service for an infectious rash.
  4. If one feels its is not an infectious rash then look at Rash aftercare section.

All the questions answered will be represented to one as a report so one can show one’s medical doctor.

Please note the more accurately the questions are answered the more information is presented to your medical healthcare professional.

Medtick are determined to find out what is wrong so one can receive the appropriate treatment.

Method:

  1. Pick the most prominent symptom (question) after 'High temperature greater than 38°C, 100°F or over greater than 72hours' question (if that is the only symptom click on that link for tips but one will need to see a medical doctor). Only pick the questions that apply , you do not have to answer all the questions.
  2. Read the status/tips for guidance, then click the condition, read the information, answer the questions and then click COMPLETE. If one believes this is not there condition simply click COMPLETE.
  3. Repeat for other conditions if required.
  4. If one decided to look at two or more questions and one see the same disease, so long as one is already answered one does not have to answer it again.
  5. When complete, purchase report.
