What is it?

A disorder of autonomic nervous system involving the development and survival of sensory, sympathetic and some parasympathetic neurons in the autonomic and sensory nervous system.

Cause

  • Family history

Symptoms

  • Red blotching of skin, Red puffy hands?
  • Absence of overflowing of tears with emotional crying after the age of 7 months?
  • Weak or absence of sucking, misdirected swallowing?
  • Delayed speech and walking, unsteady gait?
  • Decreased deep tendon reflexes?
  • Erratic or unstable blood pressure?
  • Less perception in pain or temperature?
  • Constipation or diarrohea?
  • Long periods of vomiting?
  • Repeated fevers and pneumonia?
  • Tongue surface is unusually smooth and pale?
