What is it?

A form of eczema.

Medication

  • Tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) blockers (treat arthritis)
  • Interferon and ribavirin (treat Hepatitis C)
  • Cholesterol medication
  • Isotretinoin (treat Acne)

Symptoms

  • Look at pictures, does it resemble to one‘s rash?
  • Any circular patches of eczema which are pus-filled, bumpy and blistered?
  • Any red spots becoming larger with pale centre?
  • Hot painful skin which is increasing in size (occur normally on legs or arms)?

Complications /Information to beware of/General tips:

This condition can lead to:

  • Bacterial skin infections
  • Viral skin infections (eczema herpeticum, caused by herpes virus):
    • Areas of painful eczema that quickly get worse
    • Groups of fluid-filled blisters that break open and leave small, shallow open sores on the skin
    • High temperature and generally feeling unwell
