What is it?

An extremely rare congenital neurological disorder, characterised by facial paralysis and inability to move eyes from side to side.

  • Facial paralysis?
  • Inability to move eyes side to side?
  • Inability to close their eyes?
  • Strabismus (crossed eyes)?
  • Expressionless face?
  • Clubbed feet or missing fingers or toes?
  • Chest-wall abnormalities?
  • Difficulty in breathing or swallowing?
  • Corneal erosion due to difficulty in blinking?
  • Delayed speech due to paralysis of mouth and tongue muscles?
  • Drooling?
