  • The big toe becomes angled outward to the middle of the foot and second toe, causing a bone to stick out at the base of the toe.
  • It tends to be more common in women since they wear more pointy shoes, poor fitting, tight and high heeled shoes or those who wear foot wear a lot and your toes are squeezed.
