Acropustulosis - Medtick

Acropustulosis

  • A skin condition where one has small, itchy blisters and pustules form on the palms and soles of hands and feet.
  • It can also occurs on forearms and wrists.
  • It occurs normally to infants and children who are two months to nine years old (normally between two to three years old).

 

Cause

  • Unknown
  • Allergic reaction to scabies
  • Occurs after scabies
Any rash that has developed in new born or babies under one year old, should be investigated by your Medical Doctor. One can check ‘The Infection Service’ and/or ‘Rash Aftercare Service’ if they wish and not any other service.

Symptoms

Does one have:

  • Scattered small blisters on soles, sides of the feet, and palms the ankles, wrists and forearms?
  • Lesions arise in crops as small, red papules, which evolve into vesicles (fluid filled spots) then pustules over about 24 hours then crusts?
  • Each crop lasts for one or two weeks, they tend to occur at intervals of 2–4 weeks?
  • More frequent and more numerous in the summer?
