What is it?

A common skin disorder where one may has several raised skin layers that causes raised, reddish patches often with silvery scaly patches.

  • It may appear as a single patch or more and may affect the whole scalp.
  • It can also spread to your forehead, the back of your neck, or behind and inside your ears.
  • one can have ‘flare up’ of this condition because  its is exposed to some cause but it is poorly understood.
  • Psoriasis does not cause hair loss, but one when picks on their scalp this damages the root and hair can fall out.
  • When one also picks at their skin there is a risk of skin infection.

  • Maybe the immune system attacks the skin and causes the skin to grow to quickly?

  • Look at pictures, does it resemble to one‘s rash?
  • Hot, red, itchy scalp with silvery scales?
  • Red patches?
  • Severe dandruff?
  • Hair loss?

This condition can lead to:

  • Skin infection (when one picks and/or scratches their skin)
  • Viral skin infections (eczema herpeticum, caused by herpes virus):
    • Areas of painful eczema that quickly get worse
    • Groups of fluid-filled blisters that break open and leave small, shallow open sores on the skin
    • High temperature and generally feeling unwell
