What is it?

A rare skin condition that occurs just before menstruation (having a period) starts.

  • It normally starts seven days before the onset of menstruation (period) and within a few days of one’s period the rash will calm down and may re- occur next month (just before next period).

Cause

  • When the progesterone hormone rises in one’s body during the late phase of the pre-menstrual cycle

Medication

  • Contraceptives tablets containing progesterone- type ingredients
  • Hormonal replacement therapy (HRT)
