What is it?

Once one has had the Polio infection, some people develop this condition.

  • It is believed the polio virus lies dormant for many years (typically from 10 to 40 years) after recovery from the initial infection and then an unknown cause triggers it and attacks the cells that affect the signals from ones brain to their muscles.

(Symptoms increase and get worst gradually)

  • General discomfort (muscle weakness), uneasiness or ill feeling (malaise) and/or fatigue (tiredness)?
  • Mental tiredness?
  • Difficulty swallowing (affecting neck muscles)?
  • Difficulty using arms, body and legs, lack of stamina, walking difficulties?
  • Breathing difficulties (affecting breathing muscles)?
  • Difficulty swallowing (affecting neck muscles)?
  • Difficulty in using facial muscle?
  • Muscles are shrinking?
  • Muscle cramps/spasms/aches and joint pain similar to arthritis affecting ones daily routines?
  • Affecting ones senses, vision, hearing, taste and smell, touch and sensitivity to cold?
  • Weight gain?
  • Lack of sleep affecting ones daily routines?
  • Voice changes, hoarseness, low volume, voice sounding from nose?
