Red blood shot eye due to dilated blood vessels in white part of eye normally due to tiredness and tired eyes, this can be treated by the pharmacist.
Blood vessel burst in the eye
This occurs when a blood vessel in your eye bursts and is usually harmless even though it appears very serious (If unsure please see your pharmacist).
If one has a patchy red blood shot eye one should not treat themselves with medication for red eye, see the pharmacist first (who will provide the appropriate advice and treatment and also read the General tips section in this programme).
Please then make an appointment with the opticians to check the pressure in your eye.
