Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction) (Be aware of symptoms, can occur at anytime)
What is it?
When the supply of blood to the heart has stopped causing oxygen not to be supplied to the heart and its muscles.
The heart muscles get damaged and if not treated will start to die.
This happens when a scarred or fatty deposited heart artery ruptures and the body then try to stop the bleeding by forming a blood clot.
The blood clots then block the supply of blood to the heart and it’s muscles.
Depending the amount blood that is blocked depends on the severity of the heart attack.
An artery can rupture at any time and/or by any trigger (see below in cause).
Myocardial infarction occurs most often in the early morning hours.
Reasons may be that our body ‘wakes up’ from sleep mode that may include the morning increase in alertness leading to increases in blood pressure, heart rate, coronary vascular tone, and myocardial contractility; the morning increase in blood viscosity, coagulability, and platelet aggregability (increased blood stickiness) and the increased morning levels of natural steroids and neurotransmitters leading to an increase in alertness activity , thereby resulting in increased myocardial (heart) demand.
This condition can be referred as Myocardial infarction.
In the meantime, chew on aspirin 300mg (make sure you are not allergic to aspirin) tablet while waiting for ambulance. Aspirin prevents blood clots and reduce chances of heart attack or stroke
Coughing, nausea and vomiting, restlessness, dizziness, not well feeling?
Frightened sense about to die?
Crushing and/or squeezing and/or aching and/or burning and/or even sharp and/or mild central chest pain- chest pain is usually intense and unremitting for 30-60 minutes, (please note some do not experience pain and some say it feels like heartburn, indigestion or of fullness and gas- some feel this is the only symptom)?
Constant hiccups?
Pain travels to neck, jaw, ears, arms and wrist or between shoulder blades, back or to abdomen?
Pain not going away by changing position or resting?
Pain may be constant or coming and going?
