They are bumps that appearing over the joints usually after a soft or mild injury.
There are many types:
Localized granuloma annulare – non spread local condition
Generalized or disseminated granuloma annulare- widespread condition-rash is sometimes made up of small raised spots that form symmetrical rings 10cm (4 inches) or more across.
Subcutaneous granuloma annulare
Perforating granuloma annulare
Linear granuloma
Common areas include:
Head
Eyelids
Ears
Armpits
Skin folded areas
Backs of the hands and tops of the fingers
Genitals
Buttocks
Shins
Ankles
Tops of the feet
Around the elbows
Around the knees
The lesions of granuloma annulare are usually found in the same areas on both sides of the body (symmetrically).
