What is it?

These fungal spots mainly affect people with a weak immune system.

This condition may be associated with Tinea barbae (ringworm of the beard) , where one may have:

  • Hair breaks off and/or patches of hair loss on the beard
  • Dry flaky skin
  • Crusty skin

Cause

  • Unknown maybe Malassezia yeast

Symptoms

  • Symptoms include intense itching and recurring patches of inflamed, pus-filled sores on the scalp, face, neck and upper chest?
  • Usually spread and often leave areas of darker than normal skin (hyperpigmentation) when they heal?
