What is it?
Pain (intense, throbbing and stabbing , wave like-sensations) all over the body and tiredness and is caused by pain signals processed by the brain appear to be exaggerated, amplifying the sensation of pain in muscles and soft tissues.
- One can have constant symptoms or ‘flares up’ of symptoms.

- Unknown, maybe due to:
- High levels of Substance P and glutamate which are chemicals involved in the transmission and regulation of pain information.
- Damage to body tissue (physical exercise or physical occupation)
- Stress
- Poor sleep conditions i.e. Sleep aponea
- Feeling low and depressed
- Recent or long term Infection
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Hypothyroidism
- Low levels of oestrogen i.e. Menopause

- Aching, painful muscles, muscle cramps/spasms/stiffness?

- Stiff when in one position for a long time?
- Headache which is on and off or a constant headache longer than 24 hours, due to stiffness in neck and shoulders?
- Difficult to concentrate and/or difficulty in concentrating and/or memory problems?
- Low mood and depressed?
- General discomfort (muscle weakness), uneasiness or ill feeling (malaise) and/or fatigue (tiredness)?
- Heart palpitations and/or irregular heartbeats?
- Unknown lumps and swelling?
- Fat lumps on parts of body?
- Irritable bowel syndrome?
