Pain (intense, throbbing and stabbing, wave like-sensations) all over the body and tiredness and is caused by pain signals processed by the brain appear to be exaggerated, amplifying the sensation of pain in muscles and soft tissues.
One can have constant symptoms or ‘flares up’ of symptoms.
Further, it must persist for at least 3 months, spread to four out of five body regions (four quadrants in the older 2010 guidelines), and be triggered by at least 11 out of 18 trigger points (Trigger points are hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle, often felt as painful knots, that can cause localized or referred pain).
