What is it?

It is when one has a swollen spleen causing the destruction of red blood cells causing anaemia, stomach irritation and regular infections.

Symptoms

  • Balance and dizziness problems?
  • Headache which is on and off or a constant headache longer than 24 hours?
  • General discomfort (muscle weakness), uneasiness or ill feeling (malaise) and/or fatigue (tiredness)?
  • Sensitivity to every day noise and/or ringing noise within and/or difficulty hearing?
  • Short of breath or breathing difficulties?
  • Lack of energy?
  • Heart palpitations, irregular heartbeats?
  • Altered sense of taste?
  • Desire to eat non-food items, such as ice, paper or clay?
  • Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)?
  • Dry, flaking, spoon-shaped nails?
  • Painful ulcers (open sores) on the corners of your mouth (angular chelosis)?
  • Pale looking?
  • Sore, smooth looking tongue?
  • Skin very itchy?
  • Diagnosed Anaemic (i.e. lack of oxygen in blood, due to lack of iron, folic acid or heavy blood loss)?
  • Abdominal pain and/or are constant violently vomiting or vomiting longer than two days?
  • Unexplained weight loss?
  • Long term persistent indigestion, frequent heartburn or constant abdominal pain?
  • Feeling discomfort, fullness, or pain on the upper left side of the abdomen; this pain may spread to your left shoulder?
  • Feel full quickly when eating trapped wind and burping  (‘foul rotten egg smell’)?
  • Stomach lumps (Swelling over spleen area)?
  • Lump appear on left hand side of abdomen due to the spleen swelling?

  • Nausea and vomiting (not always)?
  • Hugh or increase in swelling over liver/or spleen area?
  • Hugh or increase in swelling over stomach area (not due to have eaten food or wind)?
  • Severe abdominal pain?
  • Balance and dizziness (not always)?
  • Bleeding through any orifice (not always)?
