Ectropion

What is it?

The lower eyelid is away from the eye.

  • It is downwards and turns outwards and happens because of weakening of tendons (that hold muscle together) at the outer corner of the eye.

  • Watery eyes?
  • Dry eyes?
  • Swollen, red, and sore eyes?
  • Appearance of the lower eye lid that has dropped and turned outwards away from the eye?
  • Eye infection, green discharge coming from the eye?

Eye Test and Driving Authority

  • Persons over 40 years should have eye test at least every 2 years. and you must tell your drivers authority if it affects your driving.
