What is it?

An abnormal collection of skin cells (cyst-like lesions filled with keratin debris) deep inside ones ear.

A medical healthcare professional needs to physically examine the ear.

Cause

  • If part of the eardrum collapses/rupures hence dead skin cells which normally pass out of ear collects pass into your middle ear and form a cyst.
  • Ruptured eardrum
  • Born with condition (rare).

Symptoms

  • Persistent or recurring watery discharge from ear?
  • Smelly discharge from the ear?
  • Gradual hearing loss  in the affected ear?
  • Sensitivity to every day noise and/or ringing noise within and/or difficulty hearing?
  • Slight discomfort in the affected ear?
