What is it?

An uncommon nerve condition where one has sudden pain of the arm and shoulder followed by weakness and numbness.

  • It is when the nerve(s) of the brachial plexus run which from your lower neck through your upper shoulders become damaged.

Cause

  • Unknown maybe:
  • Direct injury to the brachial plexus nerve
  • Birth trauma
  • Injury from stretching
  • Pressure from tumours

Treatments

  • Radiation therapy

Symptoms

  • Numbness and/or loss of pain sensation in your shoulder, arm, and hand?
  • Abnormal sensations such as tingling and burning in arms and hands?
  • Decreased ability to lift your wrist or extend it backward?
  • Weakness in hands?

  • Hand deformities?
  • Poor reflexes in the arm?
