What is it?

Asteatotic eczema, also known as eczema craquelé (french name for cracked appearance), is a common type of pruritic (itchy) dermatitis.

It can also be known as xerosis (xerotic eczema) , which is dry skin.
It characterized by dry, cracked, and scaling skin that is typically inflamed.

Look at pictures, does it resemble to one‘s rash?
Crazy pave-looking appearance on lower legs and shins sometimes on arms and body?
Scrubbing the skin vigorously, hot baths and vigorous towel drying?

This condition can lead to:

Bacterial skin infections
Viral skin infections (eczema herpeticum, caused by herpes virus):
- Areas of painful eczema that quickly get worse
- Groups of fluid-filled blisters that break open and leave small, shallow open sores on the skin
- High temperature and generally feeling unwell
