What is it?

  • Joint stiffness and pain
  • Bruise easily /Unusual bruise-like purple rash on the skin and/or in mouth
  • Cold sores and/or Pinpoint red spots on the skin
  • Confusion
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhoea
  • Eye infection, blurred vision, double vision, loss of colour vision, eye pain or worse on movement
  • Feeling weak and tired
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Mouth ulcers
  • Aching, painful muscles, muscle cramps/spasms/stiffness
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Pale looking
  • Passing more or less urine than normal
  • Repeated infections or infections that don’t go away
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat and/or swollen glands
  • Stiff neck
  • Unusual bleeding for example nose, gum, skin, genitals, anus or in any other orifice
  • Groups of pus spots can occur in mouth which can cause pain as well as weep
  • Yellowing eyes and skin
  • Pale faeces and dark urine

What you should do:

  • The side effects of medication is normally felt within an hour to a few days of taking the medication
  • Always be vigilant of side effects when introduced to new medication
  • Always tell your Pharmacist and/or Medical Doctor if you are unsure and the length of time you have been taking such medications, this allows them to make a decision on whether such medication is causing a side effect.
